YR1-2 RUGBY FESTIVAL

On 9th November 2023 we held our Yr 1-2 Rugby Festival at Crusaders RUFC.  This was an Engage themed event and was for pupils who enjoy taking part and come to have a try, friendly games were played after the skills sessions. All Pupils received a participant certificate and the school games value celebrated for this event was Passion. All children were encouraged to display the school games values and fair play but each team nominated one pupil from their school who stood out the most for showing Passion School Games Value.

We had the following 12 schools attended our event:

  • Arden Grove
  • Astley
  • Costessey
  • Garvestone
  • Ghost Hill
  • Lodge Lane
  • Nightingale
  • Queen's Hill
  • St Augustine's
  • Swanton Morley
  • Thomas Bullock
  • Toftwood Inf

The schools participated in 7 different activities on each pitch and Neatherd High School sports leaders, who were brilliant at supporting and encouraging the children to do their personal best. It was great to see over 120 children involved in various activities and a great opportunity for the pupils to represent their school in a sports event. The pupils were active and improved across the day. Following on from todays event, we encourage schools to provide the children an opportunity to develop and improve  their skills further by putting on clubs before/after school, break and lunchtimes.
