YR1/2 CROSS COUNTRY COMPETITION
On 1 November 2023 we held our Yr1/2 Cross Country Competition. This was a Compete themed event and was for pupils who enjoy competition. All Pupils received a participant certificate and the school games value celebrated for this event was Honesty. All children were encouraged to display the school games values and fair play but each team nominated one pupil from their school who stood out the most for showing Honesty School Games Value.
We had the following 19 schools/20 teams attend our event:
- Astley
- Arden Grove
- Beeston
- Cawston
- Dereham Inf
- Ghost Hill
- Gt Witchingham
- Heather Av
- Hockering
- Litcham
- Lodge Lane
- Mattishall
- Nightingale
- Scarning
- Stibbard
- St Mary's
- Swanton Morley x2
- Thomas Bullock
- Toftwood Inf
Taverham High School sports leaders helped run the competition, who were brilliant at supporting and encouraging the children to do their personal best. It was great to see over 300 children involved in running and a great opportunity for the pupils to represent their school in a sports event. Following on from todays event, we encourage schools to provide the children an opportunity to develop and improve their running skills further by putting on clubs and encouraging the pupils to join a local community club to promote/grow cross country running wider in Norfolk.
A really big well done to Lodge Lane Infant who won the overall competition today and the runners up were Thomas Bullock.
A special congratulations to the following winners of each race
YR1 Girls - Swanton Morley
YR1 Boys - Stibbard
YR2 Girls - Gt Witchingham
YR2 Boys - Lodge Lane
And a very well done to all that took part.
