YR 4-5 BASKETBALL FESTIVAL

Our SSP Shooting HoopStars🏀

Today we welcomed 80 children for our YR4-5 Basketball Festival @ueasportspark

The girls & boys were from 6 schools (8teams) who had lots of fun and shooting, dribbling, passing and defending in 4 skilled based activity stations followed by non-scoring games to put those skills learnt in to practice and trying to achieve their personal best.

A huge well done to all the children who participated showing great attitudes and TEAMWORK (our schools games value for this event). A massive thanks to our local community club @norfolkhoopstars who supported the event by delivering skilled based activity stations and officiating the non scoring games as well as encouraged the children throughout! (well worth getting them in your school for extra basketball opportunities)!!

The schools were from

Astley Primary
Dereham Jnr x2
Drayton Jnr x2
George White Jnr
Kinsale Jnr
Scarning

Thanks to all these schools for allowing their pupils to access this event.

It was great to Capture Youth Voice by speaking to a few pupils from participating schools during/after the event on their thoughts/feedback. Few quotes below for what it is all about;

“tried something new”
“want to go back and play it at school”
“that was fast paced games”
“I got to learn how to defend, pass, shoot and dribble!”
“got to play different roles of the game”
“Loved it”
“I won teamwork school games value sticker”
“enjoyed working as a team”
“I had so much fun”
“great playing against other schools”
