  • YR3-4 ALTERNATIVE ACTIVITIES​​​​​​​

    On 29th November 2023 we held our Yr 3-4 Alternative Activities Festival at the ARENA, Norwich.  This was an Engage themed event and was for pupils who enjoy taking part and come to have a try, friendly games were played after the skills sessions. All Pupils received a participant certificate and the school games value celebrated for this event was Self Belief. All children were encouraged to display the school games values and fair play but each team nominated one pupil from their school who stood out the most for showing Self Belief School Games Value. 

    We had the following 8 schools attended our event:

    • Costessey
    • Firside
    • Kinsale Jnr
    • Queen's Hill
    • Scarning
    • St Peter's
    • Taverham Jnr
    • Toftwood Jnr

    The schools participated in 8 different activities and Hellesdon High School sports leaders, who were brilliant at supporting and encouraging the children to do their personal best. It was great to see 80 children involved in various activities and a great opportunity for the pupils to represent their school in a sports event. The pupils were active and improved across the day. Following on from todays event, we encourage schools to provide the children an opportunity to develop and improve  their skills further by putting on clubs before/after school, break and lunchtimes.

  • YR3/4 & 5/6 GIRLS FOOTBALL COMPETITION 2023

    On 14th November 2023 we held our Yr3/4 & 5/6 Girls Football Competition. This was a Compete themed event and was for pupils who enjoy competition. All Pupils received a participant certificate and the school games value celebrated for this event was Respect. All children were encouraged to display the school games values and fair play but each team nominated one pupil from their school who stood out the most for showing Respect School Games Value. 

    We had the following 17 schools/29 teams attend our event:

    DESA sports leaders helped run the competition, who were brilliant at supporting and encouraging the children to do their personal best. It was great to see 217 girls involved in running and a great opportunity for the pupils to represent their school in a sports event. Following on from todays event, we encourage schools to provide the children an opportunity to develop and improve their football skills further by putting on clubs and encouraging the pupils to join a local community club to promote/grow girls football wider in Norfolk.

  • YR1-2 RUGBY FESTIVAL​​​​​​​

    On 9th November 2023 we held our Yr 1-2 Rugby Festival at Crusaders RUFC.  This was an Engage themed event and was for pupils who enjoy taking part and come to have a try, friendly games were played after the skills sessions. All Pupils received a participant certificate and the school games value celebrated for this event was Passion. All children were encouraged to display the school games values and fair play but each team nominated one pupil from their school who stood out the most for showing Passion School Games Value. 

    We had the following 12 schools attended our event:

    The schools participated in 7 different activities on each pitch and Neatherd High School sports leaders, who were brilliant at supporting and encouraging the children to do their personal best. It was great to see over 120 children involved in various activities and a great opportunity for the pupils to represent their school in a sports event. The pupils were active and improved across the day. Following on from todays event, we encourage schools to provide the children an opportunity to develop and improve  their skills further by putting on clubs before/after school, break and lunchtimes.

    On 1 November 2023 we held our Yr1/2 Cross Country Competition. This was a Compete themed event and was for pupils who enjoy competition. All Pupils received a participant certificate and the school games value celebrated for this event was Honesty. All children were encouraged to display the school games values and fair play but each team nominated one pupil from their school who stood out the most for showing Honesty School Games Value.

Following on from todays event, we encourage schools to provide the children an opportunity to develop and improve their running skills further by putting on clubs and encouraging the pupils to join a local community club to promote/grow cross country running wider in Norfolk. 

    A really big well done to Lodge Lane Infant who won the overall competition today and the runners up were Thomas Bullock.

  • YR2-3 SPEEDSTACKING FESTIVAL​​​​​​​

    On 20th October 2023 we held our Yr 2-3 Speedstacking Festival. This was a Develop themed event and was for pupils who enjoy taking part and come to have a try but don't want to solely focus on winning and losing, instead they focus on supporting pupils wider development of their physical, personal, emotional and social health. All Pupils received a participant certificate and the school games value celebrated for this event was Self Belief. All children were encouraged to display the school games values and fair play but each team nominated one pupil from their school who stood out the most for showing Self Belief School Games Value.

    We had the following schools attend our event:

    On 12th October 2023 we held our Yr 5-6 Tag Rugby Festival at Crusaders RUFC.  This was an Develop themed event and was for pupils who enjoy taking part and come to have a try, friendly games were played after the skills sessions. All Pupils received a participant certificate and the school games value celebrated for this event was Determination. All children were encouraged to display the school games values and fair play but each team nominated one pupil from their school who stood out the most for showing Respect School Games Value.

Following on from todays event, we encourage schools to provide the children an opportunity to develop and improve  their skills further by putting on clubs before/after school, break and lunchtimes.
